These two aren’t the greatest pictures ever taken as far as quality…but to my credit they were taken from a car window in the sort of drive-by photography style. As an added perk, the snow buntings are a new life bird for me. They summer in the far Canadian arctic and winter in barren fields in the northern U.S.

Where were these taken? Do you normally get Snow Buntings in Massachusetts?

(And I think anytime you post on muskrats, you should post audio of you singing Muskrat love…)

I live in NY now…and the pics were taken up in Richland NY in a snow barren field. Richland is up by Lake Ontario. And as an aside, we did get snow buntings on the Cape in MA in the winter, though I was never able to find them. They like the cold, snow covered sand drifts and dunes.
