Too cute. I love it. We've sure had our fair share of snow as well. 37 inches since December 7th. I am SOOOO ready for warm weather. The only insects spotted thus far have been a single house fly and a few stray Asian lady beetles.

I agree with Heidi. Because we are human, and the "big kid on the block" so to speak, we have a tendency to think we can overtake any landscape we chose and do with it as we please, and the consequences be damned. If an amiable decision cannot be reached that benefits both the beetles and the people residing there, then I say if those people were foolish enough to build in a area that is prone to erosion to begin with, let them suffer the repercussions of their lack of good judgment. The beetle is the clear winner in this debate.

Keep the bug; people have the ability to relocate. We're the only global infestation that has yet to find something we can't adapt to. We're working on other planets, which the beetle can't - so I say the beetle stays, let the people move.

Glad to see you're no longer in blog hibernation!

Nice photos! The clown-fish moth ID is Callopistria mollissima (Noctuidae) - or the Pink-Shaded Fern Moth.

I´ll always be happy to put names on your moths!
